Spoiler alert!

In case anyone is having trouble finding the Halloween code I'm going to post it here (and on the FB page).  The code is TRICKORTREAT it's not usable in conjunction with other offers or on FOTM packages, but other than those it is for 20% off orders.  The code is valid until midnight tonight UK time.

By the time I post this the Halloween treasure hunt should be live!

I'm killing time for a few minutes before I activate the treasure hunt on the site, so I thought I'd share a picture of Passione Ricamos The Morning Fae.  It's another of my WiPs, she's stitched on 28 count cashel linen in Dawnblush.  The photo could be better, it's lousy weather today so it was taken in artificial light.

There are still a couple of days left if you want to get hold of Octobers ltd edition fabric.  Novembers should be up on the site on Monday.  Also I need to put in a HAED chart order so if there are any charts you'd like a hard copy of let me know and I'll add them to my order.

Trick or Treat!

It's Halloween (well very nearly!) to celebrate starting at 12 noon tomorrow (Friday 29 October 2010), there will be a treasure hunt on the shop website (www.craftykitten.co.uk not that you needed a reminder!).  Hidden in one product there will be something Halloween themed, with this will be an email link to send a message that you've found it to and a 20% off  discount code valid until midnight onthe 31st October.  The first person to find it and send an email to the email address that is with it will get a 9x12" cut of their choice of fabric and colour.

Happy hunting and stitching!

Daybreak Moon (Melissa Dawn) update

I thought it was time for a quick update of my Daybreak Moon WiP (stitched on daybreak gradients).  The kitten now has a set of ears and I've started to fill in her eyes.

Another Floss Toss

I've got a couple of floss toss pictures to share today, these are from Lisa Buck (thanks Lisa for sending them to me for the blog).  They are for Charelaines Hummingbird Mandala Garden.  The first is on Dawnblush, which Lisa is planning on using, the second is on Septembers LTD Edition Fabric.  I'm really looking forward to WiP pictures of this.

Colour gradients as a new section on the site

I've just added a new category to the site under hand dyed fabrics for 'colour gradients'.  at the moment the only colour in there is Daybreak gradients, the fabric originally dyed for Daybreak Moon.  This is what it looks like with some stitching on (28 count Jazlyn, Daybreak Moon, (c) HAED and Melissa Dawn tent stitched over 1):

October releases and our new competition winner

It's the first of October and that means a change in the Limted Edition colour!
Octobers Ltd Ed
I had fun yesterday playing with autumnal colours, and came up with 2 possibilities for this months limited edition.  I have released both colours today, one as the limited edition and the other as a standard colour called Fall Foliage.  I chose to make Fall a standard colour as it's very usable it should work well for any slightly Autumnal fairy it's soft enough in shade it won't over power a design. I don't always release the colours that don't make it as monthly limiteds.

Fall Foliage
Moss Rose

I had been tempted to go down the pumpkin orange route for this month, but looking out of the window to where the trees are beginning to change yesterday made me reconsider.  My pear tree is going a beautiful shade of orangy red, so that was the inspiration for the limited colour.  I haven't forgotten Halloween, I have something planned for the end of the month, but I'm not telling you what yet!

Also released today is Raspberry Parfait, a blend of raspberry pinks, and finally and by no means least Moss Rose, the September newsletter competition winner, named by Ilke Cochrane.  Thank you for all your entries, I had trouble picking a winner.
