Starburst Fabrics are now available

I've just added 'Starburst' as two colour options in the colour gradients section of the website.  I've added a grey version and a blue one.  Both of which are designed to replace the bleached background of Lavender and Lace's Firefly Fairies.  The effect is different from a bleached fabric, but I like the way that they have come out.

I will be adding more colour options, a blue/green one will appear at some point for mermaids.  As these fabrics have a focal point they need to be ordered to the design size you want rather than cut down from a standard cut.  So if you're interested in them in any colour combination please email me.

The two following pictures are photographs (so slightly dark) of the greys showing the full fabric cut (one 18 count aida and 1 22 count hardanger).  The actual colour is the colour of the above scan

20 count aida and 22 count hardanger...

are now available in all hand dyed colours.  I've also added them to the solid colours section if you need undyed cuts for a project.

In the next few days I'm going to be adding a few colour submenus in the hand dyed fabrics section so it should be a little easier to find a specific colour if you don't want to go through the whole range (as it's getting quite large!)

A WIP picture for you to drool over

Karen sent me a lovely email this morning with a picture of her Wisteria Garden (Chatelaine) part 1 WiP attached.  She is stitching it on one of last months ltd ed colours, peppermint cream in 28 count Jazlyn.  I love the way it's looking and I can't wait to see more of it when part 2 is released.

Happy New Year!

A huge lack of posts from me in December, sorry about that.  I had a nice long snowy break in Devon at my parents.  I've got a couple of new fabrics for you to look at today, the first is the new LTD fabric for January.  The second is an addition to the sorbet line, this one is lemon sorbet.

I haven't forgotten the grab bags I was going to add to the site.  Keep an eye out for them this month.  I decided as I was going to be away so much of December to hold off releasing them until this month.

I have a couple of new fabrics that will be available on the site shortly as well.  I have ordered some 22 count hardanger (so that will give two 22 count fabrics available) and some 20 count aida.  Both of these have been requested by customers.   I'll let you know when they're in stock and the grab bags are available.

A chilly December update

Candy Cane

Decembers Ltd edition fabrics are up on the website.  I did two this month, a fun gradient style piece called candy cane which is peppermint and red striped and a green and white one called peppermint cream.  I've also mailed the newsletter out.

Peppermint Cream
Post has been quite slow in the last week due to the snow and cold weather in the UK, it's taking a day or two longer for things to get where they're headed.  All orders have been mailed as normal so please bear with the post office...

32 count opalescent Belfast Linen and Tips Section on Blog

It's been a couple of quiet weeks news wise as normal for the middle of the month.  I've added one new fabric type to the website, 32 count opalescent Belfast Linen, it's available in all of the hand dyed colours.  Check out the opalescent fabric section on the site to find it.

Just a quick reminder, if you're looking for a specific fabric type in one of our hand dyed colours and it isn't on the website drop me an email at info@craftykitten.co.uk and I will see what I can do about it.  I am adding new fabrics to the site when someone requests them.  It's the small company thing, much as I'd love to have every fabric in stock and on the website I don't have the storage space so I'm only buying new fabric types when I need them.

I've added a tips and explanations section to the blog (follow the link in this post and it's also in the menu on the right hand side).  I've started it off with a few notes on washing hand dyed fabrics (something I don't recommend but I appreciate it might sometimes be necessary).  I'll be adding other tutorial and Q&A based items there over time so if there's anything you'd like to know drop me a message and I'll see what I can do.

Other things to keep an eye out for on the site in the run up to the end of the year, obviously a new LTD Ed colour for December, at least one more new release colourwise.  There will also be a small number of grab bags available next month, the details of what will be in them and the cost I'm still working out.

November new colours

I've just added Novembers LTD colour to the website, it's a blend of soft pinks.  The colour variation is more subtle than strawberry sorbet.  This colour came about as I was trying to get a soft pink/grey blend.  It didn't work out quite the way I'd planned but I really like the colour so I decided to release it as this month LTD.

The other new colour is Icicle, this is a very soft pale blend of blue and aqua, it should give a nice subtle icy background.  It doesn't scan that well as it is quite pale but it's a very delicate and pretty wintery shade.
